This privacy policy explains how Samantha Dunn (“I”, “me”, “my”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit samantha-dunn.com (the “Site”).
Who I am

What information I collect
I collect information in two ways.
Information you give me: when you fill in a contact or speaking enquiry form on this Site, I collect your name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide (organisation, message, event details).
Information collected automatically: when you visit the Site, my hosting provider (GoDaddy) collects standard server log information; your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the time and date of your visit. This is standard for any website and is used to keep the Site running and to identify problems.
How I use your information
I use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, to provide the information or service you’ve requested, and to keep records of our communication for business purposes. I do not send you marketing emails unless you’ve specifically asked me to.
Cookies
This Site uses a small number of cookies – essential cookies that help the Site run properly (e.g. caching cookies that improve load times) and security cookies (e.g. Google reCAPTCHA, which helps prevent spam form submissions). I don’t use third-party advertising cookies or behavioural tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Site may not work as well.
Who I share your information with
I do not sell your personal information. I share information only as needed to run this business:
- My hosting provider (GoDaddy) stores the Site and your form submissions on their servers
- Google Drive is used to back up the Site itself; form submissions are sent directly to my email and not backed up here
- Google reCAPTCHA is used to prevent spam form submissions; Google may collect some technical information (see Google’s privacy policy)
- Service providers I work with for accounting, legal or technical support, only where strictly necessary
International transfers
Some of the services I use (GoDaddy, Google) may store data on servers outside Australia. By using this Site, you consent to this transfer. I use reputable providers who comply with international data protection standards.
How long I keep your information
I keep form submissions and related correspondence only for as long as needed to provide the service you’ve requested and to meet legal or business requirements (typically up to 7 years for business records under Australian tax law). After that, I delete it.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to access the personal information I hold about you, to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date, to request deletion of information (where I’m not legally required to keep it), to object to certain uses of your information, and to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information.

How I protect your information
I take reasonable steps to protect your information. The Site uses HTTPS encryption, form submissions are sent securely via my hosting provider, I keep my software and security plugins up to date, and I only share your information with trusted service providers who have their own privacy and security measures. No system is 100% secure, but I do my best to protect your data.
Children
This Site is not directed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. For significant changes, I’ll add a notice on the Site for a reasonable period.
